Fill each square with a London station that fits both its row and its column. You get nine guesses (unlimited in Easy mode), and each station can be used only once. Quieter stations score better. Not sure what a clue means? Tap it on the grid, or see .
Every station you place in a daily grid is collected and lights up. Practice grids don't count.

Collect stations from the daily grid to complete lines, zones and milestones.
How to play
New here? .
- Pick a square. Each one has a clue for its row and a clue for its column.
- Name a London station that fits both. Type the first 3 letters and pick from the list. Each station can be used once.
- Fill all nine. You get 9 guesses in Normal mode, or unlimited in Easy mode. A wrong station costs a guess.
- Collect stations. Every station you place in the daily grid lights up on your Map. A new grid comes out every day at midnight.
Scoring: go for quiet stations
When a grid ends, each answer shows how common it is. Busy stations are common and quiet ones are rare, based on how many people use each station a year (TfL figures).
Your rarity score adds up all nine squares, and an empty square counts as 100. Lower is better, so the less obvious station wins.
Good to know
- Any Tube, London Overground or Elizabeth line station with a TfL fare zone can be an answer.
- Name clues use the official station name. Capitals and punctuation don't matter.
- Unknown names and stations you've already placed don't cost a guess.
- Tap any clue on the grid to see its rule.
The clues
Puzzles
Themed grids picked by MindTheGrid, just for fun. They don't count towards your stats, streak or map.
- Specific answers. Every square must also fit the puzzle's theme, so some squares have only one or two stations that work.
- You can clear a square. Stuck? Tap a filled square and choose Clear this square.
- No guess limit. Keep trying until every square is filled.
Make your own grid
Pick three row clues and three column clues. Every square needs at least three stations that fit, and the grid has to be solvable with nine different stations.
Play a friend's grid
Custom grids don't add stations to your map. Only the daily grid does.
About MindtheGrid
Hi, I'm Jack. I moved to London in 2025. I love city-building and transport games, so naturally I fell for the complexity of the London transport network. MindtheGrid is purely a hobby project.
The game
Every day there's a new 3×3 grid. Find a London station that fits each square's row and column, with nine guesses to fill all nine squares. Every station you place is collected on your map, so the more you play, the more of London lights up.
Support the game
